These questions could be asked as frequently as every session. They are appreciated because it's similar to the accountability of a personal trainer, to keep someone moving forward. It also gets someone out of their day-to-day challenges and gets them to think more strategically.
Revisit short-term goals
Have the short term goals we set been completed? If not, what can we do to get there?
What have you learned about yourself while working towards your goals?
What do we need to work on to get closer completing this goal? What are the next steps?
What has changed since we set goals? Which goals should we add or change?
Revisit long-term goals
What progress have we made so far towards this goal?
What has changed since we set long-term goals?
